Should A Delivery Man Who Shakes Your Hand And Says Nice To Meet You Be Fired?
Listen everybody knows I’m a man of the people. I don’t think I’m better than anybody else. I’m a there is no I in team type of guy. But last night I ordered some sushi from Doordash and when the delivery guy dropped it off he shook my hand and said nice to meet you. I was stunned and taken aback. Umm bro just give me my food. This isn’t Kelly Kapor story hour. I’m not here to make friends or shake your hand. You are here to give me my food as fast and efficiently as possible and quickly leave the premises. The tip is already included in the app. There is literally no excuse for us to have any interaction besides me taking the food and saying thank you. Yet here was this guy saying nice to meet you and shaking my hand. Newsflash, this is how robots end up doing human jobs. I’m not trying to make too big of a deal out of this but this guy has to be fired right? You can’t just go shaking people’s hands when you’re the delivery man. We’re living in a society!
PS – I just saw Nate’s blog about the delivery guy eating snacks at the office for an hour. See this is what happens when you don’t nip the handshake in the bud. It becomes chaos.
